2012 World Semiconductor Council
SIA will host the 2012 World Semiconductor Council (WSC) meeting in Saratoga Springs, NY from May 21‐25.
Unique to the semiconductor industry, the annual WSC meeting brings together representatives of the semiconductor industry associations and company executives from the U.S., Korea, Japan, Europe, China and Chinese Taipei to promote global semiconductor industry activities, cooperation, and growth.

What is a Semiconductor?
A semiconductor is an electronic device which can be switched to conduct or block electric currents. The popular term “microelectronics and computer chips” are synonymous with "semiconductors". Most semiconductor devices are made from silicon. More importantly semiconductors are the enabling technology that underpins the entire U.S. economy.
