STAFF : John Greenagel
John Greenagel is Director of Communications for
the Semiconductor Industry Association. Mr. Greenagel works with the Communications
Committee, made up of professionals from SIA member companies, to develop
strategic communications programs that build industry awareness and encourage
concerted action on critical issues. The Communications Committee and SIA
staff work closely with other SIA committees to communicate information
about the semiconductor industry to a wide array of audiences, including
the news media, government, academicians, analysts, and industry and community
groups.
Prior to joining the SIA, Mr. Greenagel spent 18 years at Advanced Micro
Devices, where he was Director of Corporate Communications. He has been
involved in SIA activities for many years and was an original member of
the SIA Communications Committee, serving as chairman from 1991 through
1992.
Mr. Greenagel operated a public relations consulting firm in San Francisco
from 1972 until joining AMD in 1984. His firm specialized in campaign and
issues management. He is a past president of the San Francisco Bay Area
Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Mr. Greenagel also worked
for the United States Chamber of Commerce in Sacramento, California and
Washington, D.C., and for the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce in St. Paul,
Minnesota.
Mr. Greenagel received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political
Science from the University of Minnesota. He also attended the William Mitchell
College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota
